Job Description

Red Star Express Plc is seeking experienced and dedicated Team Truck Drivers to join our dynamic transportation department. As a key member of our logistics team, you and your co-driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight across designated routes, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to all safety and regulatory standards. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently in a team driving environment.
  • Adhere to all local and national traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with a co-driver to maximize driving hours and ensure continuous movement of freight.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and other necessary documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, co-drivers, and customers.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of cargo during transit.
  • Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents promptly.
  • Manage rest periods and breaks according to regulations and company policy.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience as a truck driver, preferably in a team setting.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Strong understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GPS and navigation software.
  • Certification in defensive driving.
  • Familiarity with various types of freight and cargo handling procedures.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
