Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support faculty and students in various academic departments at Florence University of the Arts. The Teaching Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience by providing direct student support, assisting with course-related tasks, and contributing to a dynamic educational environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty members in preparing course materials, presentations, and assignments.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring and academic support to students.
- Help with grading assignments, quizzes, and exams under instructor supervision.
- Organize and manage classroom activities, labs, or workshops.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and answer student questions.
- Support administrative tasks related to course delivery and student communication.
- Adhere to FUA academic policies and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge in the subject area(s) of assignment
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's degree program
- Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching assistance
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas)
- Proficiency in Italian is a plus
