Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Greenkeeper to manage and maintain the exquisite grounds of a private estate located in Prescott, Arizona. The ideal candidate will possess a profound passion for horticulture, a keen eye for detail, and extensive experience in turf management, ornamental gardening, and irrigation systems. This role requires a proactive individual capable of working autonomously to ensure the estate’s landscape remains pristine and vibrant throughout the year, reflecting the unparalleled standards of luxury and beauty associated with Four Seasons managed properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all turf areas, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control.
- Oversee the health and appearance of ornamental gardens, shrubs, trees, and perennial beds.
- Implement and maintain efficient irrigation systems, including repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Perform seasonal plantings, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
- Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Operate and maintain a variety of landscape equipment safely and effectively.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive landscape maintenance schedule.
- Ensure all outdoor areas are kept clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Work collaboratively with other estate staff to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Adhere to sustainable landscaping practices and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Greenkeeper or Head Gardener for a private estate, golf course, or luxury property.
- Proven expertise in turf management, including warm-season and cool-season grasses.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and soil science.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.).
- Experience with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify and treat plant diseases and pests.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in horticulture, turf management, or a related field.
- Experience with organic and sustainable landscaping methods.
- Knowledge of local Prescott climate, flora, and fauna.
- Experience managing a diverse range of plant species, including native plants.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
